Same-day call-outs · inside 2 hours
Plumbing and heating in Cwmbran
Cwmbran is where we are, not somewhere we drive out to. Same-day call-outs, and for most of the town that is a ten-minute drive rather than an hour.
Flow N Flame is a family business working out of Cwmbran, and it has been for over twelve years. Most of what we do is inside the town or within a few miles of it, which is the practical reason we can offer a same-day call-out and aim to be with you inside two hours.
A town that was built all at once
Cwmbran is a post-war new town, and that shapes the plumbing here more than anything else. Llanyravon, Fairwater, Croesyceiliog, St Dials, Thornhill, Oakfield, Two Locks and Greenmeadow went up quickly between the 1950s and the 1970s, in batches, to a small number of repeated house designs. Whole streets share the same pipe runs, the same cylinder positions and the same original stopcocks — and they reach the same age at the same time.
That is why faults here arrive in waves. When one house on a road loses pressure or finds a seized valve, the neighbours usually have the same thing coming. It also means we can often tell you where the pipework runs before we lift a board.
What we cover
The whole town, from the centre and the stadium side out to the Llantarnam industrial estates and the residential estates around them. Pontypool is four miles up the valley, and we work down towards Newport and across to Caldicot as well.
What we do here
Boiler installation, repair and servicing. Leak call-outs and burst pipes. Powerflushing, radiators, smart controls, bathrooms, and the ordinary plumbing — taps, toilets, stopcocks, pipework. Everything on our list, we do in Cwmbran.
Qualified, insured, guaranteed
Gas Safe registered 630601, G3 for unvented cylinders, BPEC and WRAS approved, and a BAXI approved installer, which is what lets us offer manufacturer warranties up to ten years on a new boiler. Public liability insurance, and a two-year workmanship guarantee on everything we touch. Finance is available on new boilers.

Frequently asked questions
What is a reasonable call out charge for a plumber?
A reasonable call-out charge is one you are told before the engineer sets off, not one that appears on the invoice afterwards. There is no national rate, and anyone quoting you a single UK-wide figure is guessing. Ring us on 07476 272447, describe the job, and we will tell you what the visit costs and what it includes before we book anything in.
Which parts of Cwmbran do you cover?
All of it. Llanyravon, Fairwater, Croesyceiliog, St Dials, Thornhill, Oakfield, Two Locks, Greenmeadow, the town centre and the Llantarnam side are all a short drive from us. We also work in Pontypool, four miles up the valley, and out towards Newport and Caldicot.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes, registration number 630601, and you are welcome to check it on the Gas Safe Register before we come. We are also G3 qualified for unvented cylinders, BPEC and WRAS approved, and a BAXI approved installer. Every engineer carries their card and will show it at the door.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. Saturday 9am to 3pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm, on top of weekdays from 8am. Weekday closing is 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 4:30pm on Friday. Emergencies do not keep office hours, so ring and we will tell you honestly when we can get to you.
What is classed as a plumbing emergency?
Anything that is causing damage now or leaving you without water or heat. Water you cannot stop, a burst pipe, a leak coming through a ceiling, no hot water in a house with a baby or an elderly resident, or any smell of gas. A dripping tap is annoying rather than urgent, and it can wait for a normal appointment.
